You can often get a better deal through an affiliate instead of going through AT&T directly.  Some places to check online are:

Often affiliates offer cash back via rebates for new customers (although sometimes as check cards instead of a straight check).  They can often be $100 or more, well worth checking into.


Also, some brick and mortor stores will have deals periodically.  It might be worth checking places like Wal-Mart, Sam's Club or Best Buy.  Ask in the forums if anyone is aware of anything going on currently.

Many companies, organizations and schools are enrolled in this AT&T program.  They check if you qualify simply by seeing if you have an email address at the appropriate domain (e.g.

Put your company or school email address into the form.  If you qualify, you’ll receive an email with a link to activate your FAN account.  Just follow the steps provided.  Discounts typically range from 10-35% off your monthly bill and 0-40% off equipment/accessories.
