The HTC Dream, the first Android phone, has gained approval from the FCC:

Mid-November is the rumored release.  I just hope Google and the hardware manufacturers will keep the OS up to date with enhancements and fixes.  There are sure to be issues with the fledgling interface, and it would be nice to get updates out to the masses when possible.

 

I'm not porting to T-Mobile for this, but Android will be popping up elsewhere.  I hope the masses find it pleasing anough that other carriers and hardware manufacturers will adopt it.

If they offer this to "in contract" T-Mobile customers for the 149 price point during the alleged presale I might pick one up to play with. Otherwise, I'm gonna skip it.
