Over the last few days, a good number of news items have popped up all about cell phone bans on school grounds.  Some say it's not fairOthers say kids messing on their phones in class aren't paying attention to the teachers.

So what do you think?  Should they be banned on school grounds?

I don't think there's a need for cell phones on school grounds. I didn't have a cell phone when I was in school and I turned out just fine.

I agree. They're kids, so of course some of them are not gonna follow the rules. It's unfair for the teachers and the other kids. Besides, there is no need for them. I highly doubt that they need to have the ability to communicate with others while on school grounds, and if it's an emergency they can use the school's phones.

As shivers said, those of us who went to school before cell phones were perfectly fine without them. The only reason they "need" them is because they're used to having them all of the time.
