Man, it's a great time to be a mobile app. developer. Turns out that after the announcement of the Android App. Store and the success of the iPhone app. store, now T-Mobile is going to be offering an app. store for its various platforms.

Apparently there will be free and paid apps with between 50-70% revenue share for developers. It's going to launch without access to Sidekick and Android Applications, but seems like they'll have to add them in, right?

The developer agreement will go live on T-Mobile's site this week - stay tuned.

Doesn't sound like the greatest deal for developers...

If you put your app in the iPhone app store, or the upcoming Windows Mobile app store, your app becomes available to *every* iPhone or Windows Mobile user.  If you put your BlackBerry app in T-mobile's app store, you get access to maybe 10% of BlackBerry users.

App stores are most effective when they're per-platform, not per service provider.
