What is Huddler?
We can all use the help of our peers in making buying decisions or learning how to better use what we already own, but it's important to connect with the right people. Each "Huddle" is focused on a specific interest – Green Products, Home Theater Equipment, Cell Phones, Skiing, Cycling and everything in between – so that knowledgeable, passionate consumers have a place to come together. Do you:
- Know how to maximize the fuel efficiency of your Prius?
- Know the strengths and weaknesses of the latest LCD TVs?
- Do you unlock your cell phone to load custom applications?
- Want to share what you know and talk to other people with similar passions?
Huddler is for you. All you need is a username and email address and you're on your way. Continue reading to learn more about our unique approach to provide the deepest product resources online.
Tell the World About Yourself
Your "My Profile" page is the place to share a bit about who you are and why you've chosen to join the Huddle. Add your picture to make it personal, and then fill in Your List.
Your List
This is where you share the items you Own, Want, and Had in the past. Want to know which Blu-Ray player people with your TV or Receiver use? How about what Bluetooth headset is best with your PDA? Fill in what you Own and Want, we'll handle the rest.
Your Community
As a Huddler member, you can do so much more than just read about products and resources. You can:
- Modify item descriptions and specs
- Upload your own pictures
- Edit in page wikis on topics like Troubleshooting, How-to's, Related Items, and anything else you want to share
- Claim ownership of the items (or wanter-ship)
- Subscribe to the item to ensure you're notified of updates
- And of course...
Write a Review
Think your TV is the best on the market? Regretting that recent impulse buy? Let others know! Rate your item on a variety of criteria, talk about the pros and cons, and help other Huddlers with your experiences.
Collaborate with Wikis
Want to create the definitive buying guide for ski boots? Know how to make the best compost? Even if you do, chances are the Huddle as a whole knows more than you as an individual. You can start a wiki or add to one that others are working on. Add text, pictures, videos, then tag it to make sure others can easily find it. You may just earn you the honor of being a Top Contributor or have your wiki featured.
Jump into the Forums
Wikis are great when there is one version of the truth, but sometimes a lively discussion is more appropriate – that's when you enter the Discussion Forums. You can debate the merits of the newest products, ask your fellow Huddlers questions, share breaking news articles, or just shoot the breeze on whatever interests you.
Make Your Homepage Your Own
With forums, wikis, user reviews, detailed user profiles and more, how do you keep track of what you actually care about?
When you come across a user, product, wiki, or discussion thread that interests you, click the "Subscribe" button and any updates will be displayed on your home page each time you log in. Even more, we'll make our best recommendations for other stuff you might want to check out. We'll even deliver it all to you via email if you so choose. Like everything else at Huddler, it's all about you.
