reviewed August 25, 2008 at 4:29 pm I've used this app on every phone that you can download it on. And, just like I said about the BB version, this browser blows native browsers out of the water. There's nothing bad I can say about it and I've had a great time downloading newer versions and watching its progression over the years. This is definitely a must have for any smartphone owner.
reviewed August 20, 2008 at 7:39 pm Opera Mini is a fabulous alternative Web browser for a variety of platforms, including Windows Mobile as a Java application. It features bookmarking, RSS feed reading, and account synchronization. For example, I loaded an edition of Opera Mini on my Motorola RAZR v3xx and it was able to synchronize my bookmarks and RSS feeds so what I saw on my RAZR was the same as what I see on my Windows Mobile devices and Blackberry devices in terms of settings.
Page rendering is pretty fast, and the text is easy on the eyes.
I did find that performance increased when I turned off settings synchronization after the initial load. When pages are loaded in Opera Mini it seems to try to synchronize your settings first, then go on to load the content. Logging out of Opera's synchronization avoids this extra loading step.
The looks of Opera will vary by device. Things look a little compact on my Windows smartphones because of the screen size, but on devices where the screen is bigger (like the HTC Touch) it looks great.
Opera Mini is a great free product... my only regret is that it isn't the default browser on more phones.
