Call quality: I could hear a slight hiss during my test calls, though to be honest totally forgot about it for the rest of the call, which was around 20 minutes. Everyone will have different opinions or degrees of annoyance with it, but I didn't find it to be annoying, or even distracting during the call. I did notice the unit got a little warm after a call of that length though.
The hiss sounds like a PC or other speaker if nothing is coming out of it and you throw it to max volume.
I let my kids play with it for a little while and they loved it (especially the spin wheel), and I think the Juke will surely appeal to a younger crowd especially if they aren't big into text messaging. Even with that, the keypad seems very workable so unless one is used to something like the enV or u740 with a QWERTY keyboard they may not get too slowed down by it.
In my opinion for a phone and music player, combined with the swivel design and a low price point, this will probably sell well with younger audiences. More experienced phone users who like QWERTY and smartphone features aren't going to be interested in this as a main-use phone. But it has its niche and I think it is a positive addition to the Verizon lineup that will sell. It's main competitor in the lineup is the chocolate, though v2 of the choc costs more even after online discounts or rebates. If the music player was #1 on my list I'd rather have the Juke as it is smaller than the chocolate.
The "close for this function, open for that function" is a little annoying, but we had these issues with the U740. I'm not sure why Samsung/Verizon won't allow music player manipulation with the phone open.
