Sony Ericsson GreenHeart concept phone grows into reality
News by Ricky Cadden on Monday September 29, 2008.
Sony Ericsson's latest eco-friendly concept phone, dubbed the GreenHeart, was recently seen in real life. With a housing built from bio-plastics, the GreenHeart's keypad is also crafted from recycled plastics.
The user manual for this concept phone would only be available online, to save paper, and the packaging would be similarly as environmentally friendly as possible. The AC charger that accompanies the GreenHeart is a 'zero' charger with only 3.5mW of standby power, so that it uses less power than current cell phone chargers.
At this time, there are no official plans to mass-produce the GreenHeart, though we would not be surprised to see various parts of its technology show up in future Sony Ericsson cell phones. [via: UnwiredView]
Very cool. Can't wait for phones to begin using this type of design.
